eduClipper – A New Way to Save and Share Educational Resources

I am anxiously awaiting the release of eduClipper, a tool for capturing and sharing educational content – links, images, videos, documents, and uploaded files. I am an avid user of Pinterest, but am looking forward to having eduClipper at my disposal too.  Here’s why:

  • it’s school friendly and student safe
  • clipboards can be private or public
  • you can share your individual clips and clipboards with users and non-users alike, including students
  • students can build and/or share their own clipboards
  • all content is searchable

It hasn’t been released for everyone yet, although a few lucky beta users got to start using it as of this week. But you can sign up for eduClipper now so that you will have it as soon as it is available! Want to learn more? Here’s a video:

I hope to  use eduClipper to create clipboards containing collections of:

  • all the resources I use for particular lessons and units, for my own reference and for sharing with School Counseling by Heart followers  (I’m hoping other school counselors will do the same!)
  • resources I’d like to use or investigate further
  • information and resources for parents
  • links for students to use to explore a particular topic during a lesson or group or later at home

I’m also looking forward to exploring how to have students create their own clipboards. And I imagine that I will probably share individual clips from time to time. I’m sure there are many other ways I’ll find to use eduClipper. How will you use it?

  1. LiveBinder is a very similar app. I began using it this summer and have organized and categorized over 500 “pins” and other resources. I love it!

    • Susie, I’ve been thinking about Live Binder too as a resource for parents. It’s on my summer to do list, but I’m not sure that it’s going to get done! Can you keep some of it private and some public?

      • Yes! You can decide if each binder is public or private. A public binder could be shared with just a couple of people or hundreds! I love pinning new ideas….but the pins just weren’t usable until I could categorize them. And BTW, LiveBinder is not really an app, but is a web based program. I can access my binders from phone, iPad, or any computer via Internet. It was my summer project as well!

  2. Hmmmm….already thinking how I would be able to use this. May be handy to make clipboards for different subjects (similar to Pinterest) like a clipboard for bullying, social skills, conflict resolution, etc. Or clipboards for parent workshops or clipboards for classroom units that you can pull up in a class to show videos, pictures, etc.? Just one more thing to compete for time:)

    • Tanya, I think you can use Pinterest without Facebook or Twitter. I use it through my email because I didn’t want to publicize on FB everything I pinned (not that pins are private, but still . . .) I’ll be glad when I get eduClipper!
